El requisito
Continuous production bays give fire and smoke an unobstructed path the length of the building, and there is little room for permanent fire walls without disrupting throughput. Curtain runs had to match the full width of each bay without gaps, remaining clear of day-to-day operations, with overlapping sections still performing as a continuous fire barrier - a stated concern of SMCC's design team.
Solución
Cómo se ejecutó
Window Techs engineered continuous overlapping curtain spans rather than multiple shorter standard-width curtains. Overlap performance was addressed in the design review. Revised architectural drawings were issued collaboratively, and installation followed the confirmed as-approved drawing for each area.
Design collaboration
Window Techs worked with SMCC from initial technical enquiry through drawing sign-off so the contractor's engineering team could satisfy itself the solution was sound before it was built into the plant fire strategy.
